Who it suits

Best for roughly three to seven year olds. Younger than that and a ground-level cubby like the Arlo is a better first step; older than that and kids will want monkey bars and a longer slide, which is where the Greenvale or Orangutan come in.

Space and upkeep

Allow about a metre of clear run-out past the bottom of the slide and keep it clear of fences. Steel frames need no painting or sealing – a hose-down is the whole maintenance routine, which is the main practical advantage over timber.
