Billie Grand Cubby House

The Billie Grand is the big ground-level cubby in the Hide & Seek Kids range – the one to choose when you have two or three kids who want to be inside at the same time, or a child who's going to fill it with a kitchen, a table and half the toy box. The oversized arched windows are the giveaway feature: they make the inside bright and mean you can see the kids from the kitchen window without walking out.

Size and who it suits

Door height about 132 cm; suits ages 3 through to pre-teens, with room for several children at once. Front verandah with picket-style fencing, perspex windows with opening side panels for airflow, and a full floor included. Because it's ground-level it goes on any flat, well-drained base without the fall-height concerns of an elevated cubby.

What arrives and what's involved

Four cartons, the heaviest 46 kg, delivered kerbside by assisted delivery – have a second adult home. Pre-fabricated panels and a printed manual; 3–4 hours for two adults. It arrives in a temporary water-based stain and needs two coats of primer/sealer and two of exterior paint for durability and warranty; painting the panels before assembly is the easy way to do it.
